Jeremy Nell aka Jerm ─with a J─ is a South African cartoonist based in the northern suburbs of Cape Town. He’s an editorial cartoonist for The New Age and has a nationally syndicated daily comic strip called The Biggish Five. The strip’s main characters consist of Africa’s “Big Five”: a rhino called Rhino, elephant Ellie, a lion named Lion, Leopard the leopard, and a buffalo dubbed Buffie. There are also two Russian crows called Bonnie & Clyde, who express an appetite for an anonymous little worm they refer to as “Komrade Vurm”.
